Scholarship Types
Chinese Government Scholarship (Type-A Country Program)
Application Requirements
1. Non-Chinese citizens, in good health;
2. Not receiving other types of Chinese Government Scholarships at the same time;
3. Age requirement: under 25 years old for bachelor's program, under 35 years old for master's program, under 40 years old for doctoral program, under 45 years old for general visiting students, under 50 years old for senior visiting students;
4. Academic requirement: high school diploma for bachelor's application, bachelor's degree for master's application, master's degree for doctoral application;
5. Language requirement: HSK Level 4 (180+ points) for undergraduate Chinese-taught programs, HSK Level 5 (180+ points) for master's/doctoral Chinese-taught programs; TOEFL 68+ points, IELTS 5.5+ points or Duolingo 85+ points for English-taught programs (English native speakers are exempt from English proficiency certificate);
6. Undergraduate applicants need to provide CSCA score report, and the deadline for score submission is May 31, 2026;
7. Master's/doctoral and senior visiting student applicants need to submit two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.
Application Deadline
Subject to the inquiry of the national student dispatch department or the Chinese embassy (consulate general) in the respective country; CSCA score submission deadline: May 31, 2026.
