Pakistan-China B2B Investment Meeting on Leather and Footwear Sector held in Guangzhou (China) on 5th November 2024.

Guangzhou: 5th November 2024, Pakistan-China B2B Investment Meetings on Leather and Footwear were held in Garden Hotel Guangzhou, China today i.e. Nov 5, 2024 in which 07 Pakistani and 46 Chinese companies participated. The Acting Consul General of Pakistan in Guangzhou, Mr. Sardar Muhammad, in his opening remarks welcomed all the participants and highlighted Pakistan’s potential for joint ventures and investment and urged the participants to avail benefits offered by Pakistan in this regard.

Mr. Rahim Hayat Qureshi, Secretary Board of investment Pakistan, gave a comprehensive overview of Pakistan’s investment policies and invited the Chinese enterprises to consider Pakistan as preferred destination for investment in leather and footwear sector. Mr. Suilong Liu, Vice Director of China Leather Industry Association, Chairman the Association of Guangdong Shoes Manufacturers and Chairman Guangdong Shoes Materials Association in his speech focused on potential of China as an importer of raw leather and a leading exporter of leather and footwear products and also dilated upon Pakistan’s potential as destination for investment in leather and footwear sector.

The B2B meetings started from 9 am and continued till 5 pm. Over 150 business meetings were held and over 1 dozen MOUs involving 156 million US Dollars and one LOI involving 15 million US Dollars were signed. During their talks with media, the participants spoke high of the arrangements made for the event and shared that such investment meetings were effective in bringing together the businesses from both the countries to discuss opportunities for collaboration to create win-win situation for all.

In his concluding remarks, the Acting Consul General expressed gratitude to the participants and pledged to provide all support and facilitation to strengthen trade and investment ties between Pakistan and China.
